Our Service

Mountain Therapies was started to offer therapy in a peaceful environment. We have all worked in the NHS for many years and have the skills and experience to help people make transformative changes. Having worked in a large organisation has shown the importance of having a calm, nature-connected, individually-focussed space.

We know connection to the natural world supports our innate ability to grow and heal. It’s really important for us as therapists. So it seems important for everyone accessing therapy. We also believe in evidence-based therapies being the most supportive means to help people with achieving the changes they need.

Our therapy room is a garden room in South Sheffield which can be accessed by walking or cycling from the S7, S8, S10, S11 areas. There is also on-street parking available

Evidence-Based Therapies

We offer a range of therapies which can be tailored to meet your needs.

These include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and

  • Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing.

However, it’s fine if you don’t know what would work best for you.

You can find out more each type of therapy on the link below, or get in touch at mountaintherapies@outlook.com to ask for a free 15 minute call to talk this through.

Bringing Nature In

Having started more nature-based training, we can also offer to take sessions outdoors, if this is something that you would like to explore. Starting in the therapy room, we can walk to nearby accessible green space or woodland while we talk or work on an issue. Engaging with nature can sometimes bring about unexpected insights and meanings to things are bothering you. Therapy can also be used to reflect on your relationship with nature or any eco-anxiety or to work towards more connection.

Other future aims also include working more in green space, planting trees and offering more intensive day sessions, particularly for EMDR. If you’re interested in any of these things or want to make suggestions please feel free to get in touch.
